Dolgoch Falls, are 3 waterfalls near together, in a picturesque valley.

The area is known for the falls, the moss that grows here, and the railway.

Talyllyn Railway steam train passes overhead on the viaduct that bridges the Fathew Valley.

Talyllyn Railway runs nearby and you can get here by using this railway and passengers alight at Dolgoch station,  rejoining the train later in the day.

There are quite a few holiday properties promoted very near to these falls.

Alternative Directions : From Tywyn take the A493 road north to Fairbourne. After a couple of miles take the B4405 to Dolgoch. The car park is at the front of the Dolgoch Falls Hotel.

Access: Footpaths - Turn left on leaving the car park and follow the path through a gate and continue alongside the river. The first section of the lane is in good condition and is suitable for wheelchair access as far as the lower falls.

Round trip of about 1 hour:-

  • Starting from the car park at the Dolgoch Falls Hotel, turn left and continue along the path through a gate until reaching the river. Walk on alongside the river until reaching the Lower Falls.
  • From the lower falls, follow the ascending path that bears left, which eventually splits into two paths. At this point take the right fork and continue along the path by the river. Upon reaching the stone steps continue climbing up to the falls. Care should be exercised on the steps in wet weather.
  • To return follow the path through the woodland until reaching a bridge, cross the river and continue along the path until reaching the lower falls, at which point join the main path and retrace your steps back to the Car Park.
